Network-enabled collaboration speeds up the procedure of new observation & discoveries and the expansion of knowledge 8: resource sharing. However, the open, dynamic nature of collaboration requires that these networks be standards-based and manageable, assure data integrity and privacy, and provide high application availability. How do we make it balance between collaboration and privacy?

■ Device and Service Collaboration in Networks
It is required in network-enabled collaboration to accelerate and optimize application delivery from a data center/peer over end-to-end network connections in order to reduce delay for remote collaborators/participating devices and to send/receive more traffic over constrained bandwidth links.

■ Privacy in Collaborated Networks
It is also necessary to protect research data and computing assets with layered security functions to mitigate emergent threats & free-riding, and control network access to confidential applications.
